Applies to: Shared Hosting, VPS Hosting, and Unmetered Bandwidth Services

This Fair Usage Policy ("Policy") outlines acceptable usage of services provided by Cloud Server Host. Our goal is to ensure stable, high-performance hosting by preventing resource abuse in shared environments. This Policy forms part of our Terms of Service, and by using our services, you agree to be bound by it.

1. Purpose

Shared hosting and virtual servers (VPS) operate in multi-tenant environments where resources such as CPU, memory, bandwidth, and disk I/O are shared among multiple users. To ensure fair access and quality of service for all, this policy limits excessive or abusive usage that could negatively affect others.

2. Unmetered Bandwidth & Network Usage
2.1 What "Unmetered" Means

We may advertise some plans as "unmetered bandwidth" or "1Gbps unmetered." This means we do not strictly measure total bandwidth usage, but it does not imply unlimited or unrestricted usage.

1Gbps Unmetered FUP Plan includes:

  • Shared access to a 1Gbps port
  • Fair usage expectation: Suitable for regular website traffic

Important limitations:

  • Not suitable for video/audio streaming, CDN, high uplink applications, or large-scale downloads
  • If your usage exceeds 100TB/month or reaches 300 Mbps (95th percentile), your port speed may be restricted to 100 Mbps for the rest of the billing cycle
  • You may upgrade to 1Gbps True Unmetered 24x7 (streaming allowed) for €29/month extra
2.2 Bandwidth Upgrade Policy
  • If we determine your usage exceeds fair limits, you may be automatically upgraded to a higher-tier plan
  • You will be billed the difference for the current month
  • Future renewals will be charged at the new plan price
3. Prohibited Storage & File Types

To maintain service quality and prevent abuse, the following file types and usage patterns are prohibited or restricted on shared hosting plans:

3.1 Prohibited or Restricted File Types
  • Audio and video files (e.g., MP3, MP4, MKV, AVI)
  • Game files or game-related data (e.g., patches, clients)
  • Software and application installers (e.g., EXE, MSI, APK, DMG)
  • Backups and compressed archives (e.g., ZIP, RAR, ISO, TAR)
  • Large or uncompressed image files (e.g., high-resolution JPG, PNG, GIF)
  • Media/design assets not used on the live site (e.g., PSD, AI, TIFF)
  • Cold storage or warehousing of files not directly related to active website functionality

Note: Even if image or media files are being used on your website, they must be compressed and optimized for web display. Hosting uncompressed, oversized, or unoptimized assets can degrade server performance.

If you need to host large files or media content, please use SSD Hosting, VPS, or a storage-optimized plan.

4. Port/Uplink Usage
  • Each VPS or shared hosting node uses a shared uplink (typically among 10–12 clients)
  • Full 1Gbps speed may not be available at all times
  • Bandwidth-intensive activity may be throttled or flagged for upgrade
5. Fair Resource Usage
  • Use CPU, RAM, I/O, and storage responsibly
  • Do not degrade performance for others on the same server
  • We may throttle, suspend, or reclaim resources without notice
  • No refunds will be provided for policy violations
6. Definition of "Unlimited"

"Unlimited" refers to unmetered usage within fair and reasonable limits. It does not allow for unrestricted resource consumption or misuse.

7. Violations & Enforcement
  • Warning and request to reduce usage
  • Port speed limitation (e.g., 100 Mbps capping)
  • Automatic upgrade and billing adjustment
  • Service suspension or termination without refund
  • Permanent denial of future services for repeated abuse
8. Summary of Key Restrictions
  • Audio/Video Streaming: ❌ Not allowed (use 1Gbps True Unmetered)
  • Large File Hosting: ❌ Not allowed (use VPS or SSD Hosting)
  • Large/Uncompressed Images: ⚠️ Must be optimized
  • File Warehousing: ❌ Not allowed
  • CDN/Proxy Services: ❌ Not allowed
9. Policy Changes

This policy may be updated without prior notice. The latest version will always be published on our website. Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of the latest policy.
